Besiktas gains the lead in the EuroCup semifinals

Besiktas achieved a victory in the first game of the BKT EuroCup semifinals, defeating Bahcesehir 91-72 at home in the Turkish derby.

Jonah Mathews was the top scorer for the winning team with 21 points, Devon Dotson had 16, while Conor Morgan scored 13 points. Brinton Lemar and Ante Zizic were also in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

On the other side, Malachi Flynn led the scoring with 19 points, Matt Mitchell had one less, while Hunter Hale added 12.

In the duel of the two Serbian coaches, Dusan Alimpijevic secured the win, and Besiktas is now one step away from reaching the final. Bahcesehir entered the match much better, holding a double-digit lead after the first quarter (14-25).

However, the hosts had cut the deficit to two by halftime and took a significant lead by the end of the third quarter with a 30-15 run, which they maintained until the end.

The BKT EuroCup semifinal series is played on two wins, and Besiktas now leads 1-0. The next match is scheduled for Friday, April 3, at 18:00, with Bahcesehir as the host.
