JL Bourg secured a victory in the first game of the BKT EuroCup final by defeating Besiktas 72-60 in Istanbul.
The French team achieved a significant win with excellent play, becoming the first team this season to beat Besiktas on their home court in the BKT EuroCup, and they are now one victory away from securing a spot in the EuroLeague.
After the match, Dusan Alimpijevic, the coach of Besiktas, also gave his statement.
“They deserved to win, I congratulate the JL Bourg team and their coaches. Of course, we were not at our level offensively today. If you are held to 60 points at home, it shows that something is wrong. We couldn’t find our rhythm and made some poor shot selections. We will do everything to return to this arena.”
The second final game is scheduled for next Tuesday, starting at 19:30 CET.
