Bahcesehir Koleji has finalized a two-year contract extension with team captain and starting power forward Tyler Cavanaugh, per Eurohoops sources.
The deal ensures the 6-foot-9 American veteran remains in Istanbul after establishing himself as an indispensable roster piece. Known for his elite floor-spacing and locker room leadership, the New York native has provided the club with a steady, veteran presence under pressure. By securing their frontcourt anchor, the Turkish club signals a clear intent to maintain continuity as they pursue domestic and continental silverware.
The multi-year agreement follows a successful run for the club, heavily influenced by Cavanaugh’s versatile skill set. Cavanaugh’s extensive international resume includes 63 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games and multiple domestic titles captured during previous stints with European powerhouses ALBA Berlin and Zalgiris. His deep continental background is further highlighted by 13 Basketball Champions League appearances alongside Iberostar/Lenovo Tenerife, as well as 18 FIBA Europe Cup appearances with Bahcesehir. where he previously helped the Istanbul outfit advance to the Finals. He has also represented the United States in the FIBA AmeriCup 2025 and FIBA World Cup 2023 Qualifiers.
