Umana Reyer Venice has reached an agreement to sign 29-year-old American point guard Glynn Watson Jr., securing a major backcourt upgrade for the upcoming 2026–27 BKT EuroCup season.
As confirmed by Eurohoops sources, Watson will step into a primary playmaking role under recently confirmed returning head coach Neven Spahija. The dynamic guard arrives after delivering a standout breakout campaign with French club LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne, where he established himself as an elite offensive weapon on both domestic and continental stages. During the 2025-26 season, he averaged 14.2 points, 3.1 assists, and 2.4 rebounds in the EuroLeague, notably shooting a stellar 42.1% from beyond the arc over 30 games and exploding for a career-high 28 points against Paris.
This transfer marks a significant step in the steady rise of the former Nebraska standout in the NCAA. Since going undrafted and launching his European journey in 2019, Watson has built a strong reputation through productive stints in Greece, Iceland, Poland, Lithuania, and Germany before landing in France with BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque in 2024 and taking his talents to ASVEL in 2025.
Basketnews had previously reported that Watson was finalizing a deal with the Italian club.
