By Eurohoops team / info@eurohoops.net

Amar’e Stoudemire might have retired from the NBA but not from basketball!  He made his big overseas jump from Miami Heat to Hapoel Jerusalem and he received a more than warm welcome from the Israeli fans. Hapoel and the player held a “Basketball Peace” camp for kids after he signed his 2 year deal.

Later on, he answered to press questions and stated the following: “I don’t play for fun, I play to win. Jerusalem is my favorite city. There’s always challenges. Hopefully we could contend for the title. I hope it’s the start of something great, I’m very excited to play here. My choice has rocked the United States, it’s all over. It’s a historic moment”. You can watch the video of his full press conference.

Stoudemire had the company of Rudy Gay, Omri Casspi, Benno Udrih and Chris Copeland during the camp.
