Frank Elegar joins Lokomotiv Kuban

American center Frank Elegar is the newest signing of Lokokomotiv Kuban. As the Russian club officially announced, he was signed on a two-year contract.

Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar bolstered its frontcourt with the signing of center Frank Elegar to a two-year deal on Monday. Elegar (2.08 meters, 30 years old) arrives from Enisey Krasnoyarsk, where he averaged 13.5 points and a competition-high 9.2 rebounds in 22 VTB United League games last season. He also led the FIBA Europe Cup in rebounds with 10.2 per game in addition to 16.2 points over 13 games. Elegar has also played for Eisbaeren Bremenhaven of Germany, Kalev Cramo Tallinn of Estonia, Bornova Bld and Antalya Buyuksehir Belediyesi and TED Kolejliler Ankara of Turkey, JA Vichy of France, Ciclista Olimpico de la Banda in Argentina, Marousi in Greece, Cangrejeros de Santurce in Puerto Rico and EA7 Emporio Armani Milan of Italy. Elegar helped Kalev win back-to-back Estonian League titles in 2013 and 2014. He has also been a member of the U.S. Virgin Islands national team, with which he won a silver medal at CentroBasket 2006. In his only previous EuroCup experience, Elegar averaged 9.2 points and 7.2 rebounds in 10 games with Kalev in the 2013-14 season.
