Partizan Belgrade announced that Andrea Trinchieri has been hired as the team’s new head coach. Trinchieri signed a three-year contract with the Serbian team and will debut in the upcoming ABA League game vs. Mega Leks, Saturday (3/11).
Trinchieri had been a free agent since parting ways with German club Brose Bamberg in February. Over the summer, the Italian coach flirted with Toronto Raptors that wanted to acquire a European coach as an assistant.
With Partizan, Trinchieri coach in ABA League for the first time in his career and will return to EuroCup, the competition he was named “Coach of The Year” in 2013-2014 after leading Unics Kazan to the Finals.
