EuroCup Group C Roundup: Sylven Landesberg erupts to push Turk Telekom past Zenit St. Petersburg

Sylven Landesberg scored 27 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished four assists, leading Turk Telekom to an 81 – 75 over Zenit St. Petersburg for Round 6 of the EuroCup regular season.

This was the third straight win for Turk Telekom that has made a complete turnaround following the 0 – 3 in the competition. Zenit is also 3-3 with this result.

The Russian team was up 38 – 41 at halftime but at the beginning of the third quarter, TJ Campbell dropped consecutive triples to give the hosts the lead. Zenit tied the match 62 – 62 early in the fourth but Turk Telekom prevailed thanks to Landesberg’s efforts plus Vladimir Stimac (20 points, seven rebounds) and Reggie Redding (14 points, six assists, four rebounds).

Phil Scrubb (16 points, five boards, four assists) and Sergey Karasev (16 points, six rebounds) stood out for Zenit.

In Andrea Trinchieri’s EuroCup debut with the team, Partizan Belgrade beat Dolomiti Energia Trento 76 – 71 behind 18 points plus five rebounds by Jock Landale plus 16 points and six assists courtesy of Marcus Paige. True to form, Trinchieri was full of interesting quotes in the post-game presser.

Serbian center Nikola Jovanovic posted 20 points and six rebounds for Trento.

The last game of the night took place between the Group leaders and, in a close battle, ASVEL outplayed Valencia 73 – 69 to become the sole holder of the top spot.

Not only did DeMarcus Nelson score 20 points but also stole the show on the defensive end thanks to plays like this…

Louis Labeyrie had 17 points and nine boards for Valencia.
