Fiat Torino signs Mouhammadou Jaiteh and Marco Portannese

Larry Brown’s Torino hasn’t had the best start in its 2018-19 season. It’s not only the five consecutive defeats and the nine and its eleven games since the beginning of 7DAYS EuroCup and LBA Serie A, but also the injury woes among the players. In their recent home defeat against Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt, only ten players dressed and only eight played.

The Italians have made some steps towards improving their situation since the Day 6 game of the EuroCup regular season by signing two new players. They started on Thursday announcing their deal with Mouhammadou Jaiteh and followed up today announcing the signing of Marco Portannese.

The 23-year-old French center left Limoges CSP, also a EuroCup participant, and will try his luck outside France for the first time in his career. On his part, 29-year-old Portannese has only played in Italy and was a member of the Torino roster six years ago, when the club was playing at the Serie B (third-tier) level.
