Monaco repels Partizan’s comeback to win in Belgrade

AS Monaco almost gave up a 21-point lead against Partizan Belgrade on the road before ultimately winning 72 – 68 and improve to 2-1 in EuroCup Group E.

With two minutes remaining n the third period, Monaco was up 33 – 54. Partizan turned on the offensive and Bandja Sy made it a five-point game, 64 – 69 with 1:59 left to play. Yet Derek Needham hit a triple to shut Partizan’s hopes down and “lock” the win for his team.

Needham finished with 10 points and six assists while Jarrod Jones scored 16 and grabbed 11 rebounds for Monaco. Aleksej Nikolic (16 points, five assists) and Jock Landale (14 points, seven rebounds) stood out from Partizan that is now 1-2.
