EuroCup Group A Recap: Teodosic hands Bologna win over Monaco

Milos Teodosic scored 13 out of his season-high 24 points in the fourth period, including the game-winner with less than a second remaining, and dished out seven assists as Virtus Bologna beat AS Monaco 77  – 75 at home for Round 5 of the EuroCup regular season.

After Alessandro Pajola sent the inbounds pass to Teodosic, the Serbian guard pulled off a tough turnaround jumper while winning the foul to cap a comeback from 11 points down (53 – 64). He intentionally missed the free throw as the final horn sounded with Bologna getting the win that improved its Group A record to 4-1. Monaco dropped to 3-2.

Jaleel O’ Brien dropped a team-high 22 points for Monaco while Yakuba Ouattara added 11 points. Frank Gaines contributed 12 points plus five boards and Julian Gamble 11 points to Bologna’s victory.

Promitheas Patras remains the standings leader in Group A after defeating Morabanc Andorra 81 – 91 on the road behind 24 points by Chris Babb. The Greek team is tied at 4 -1 with Bologna but has the advantage following a win in Patras.

Andorra is 2-3.

On Tuesday, Zoran Dragic scored 33 points to lead Ratiopharm Ulm to a win over Maccabi Rishon Lezion.
