Thomas Heurtel practices with Barcelona for first time this season

Barcelona guard Thomas Heurtel joined the team practices of Barcelona Tuesday (21/1) for the first time this season following his return from injury, the club announced. It’s not mentioned when the French player will make his season debut with the Blaugrana.

Heurtel had undergone surgery for a partial tear on his left patellar tendon, an injury he suffered during the preparation of the French national team ahead of the FIBA World Cup in August. He had completed 2018-2019 with 10.4 points, 4.8 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 21:04 minutes over 35 EuroLeague games, helping the Barcelona return to the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

In Spain, Heurtel led Barcelona to the Copa del Rey title. He was named MVP of the tournament.

Barcelona is currently 14 – 6 in EuroLeague and tied at the third place of the standings with Maccabi Tel Aviv and CSKA Moscow.
