ASVEL suffered a 79-69 defeat at home on Sunday by Levallois and things are heating up within the team. Coach Zvezdan Mitrovic made the choice not to use Edwin Jackson for the second game straight (he did not take part in Thursday’s game against Baskonia either) and his future in the team is questionable.

This choice comes after Jackson’s recent comments to Le Progrès, where he stated that he is not pleased with the game time he is receiving. “I can’t continue like that, I didn’t return to ASVEL to play five minutes per game,” said Jackson.

After the defeat, ASVEL’s deputy president Gaëtan Muller commented on the situation between the team and Jackson. “We saw what came out in the press and we will settle this within the team. The only thing I regret is that it came out on game day. This is the most problematic for us. Yes, it is the decision of the coach. […] Could Edwin be sanctioned? Everything is possible. We must take the time to decide. Without rushing. Without amplifying things, or minimizing them. We will give ourselves time for reflection. But what is certain is that no one is above the organization”, he mentioned.
