Khimki Moscow plans to extend Thomas Robinson’s one-month contract for the remainder of the 2019-2020 season.

“Thomas’ contract expires in a few days. But, judging by how the situation is developing, we are most likely to extend his contract,” Khimki General Manager Pavel Astakhov said to Russian newspaper Izvestia, per Sports.ru. “First, he played well and, second, it’s still unclear when Jeremy Evans will fully recover.”

Robinson returned to Khimki on February 20 after beginning the season in China with the Sichuan Blue Whales. The former NBAer signed a short-term deal with the Russian side that included an extension option for the rest of the season.

Last week, Robinson had a key performance of 10 points and five rebounds in a win over Fenerbahce Beko. He also scored the basket that gave his team a 14-point lead and a tiebreaking advantage over the Turkish squad.

“We don’t have time to get someone else. Therefore, it’s likely that the contract will be extended until the end of the season,” Astakhov added.
