Uncertainty on players’ contracts is rising with the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season on hold, but Alexey Shved is set to become a free agent this summer as his deal with Khimki Moscow Region runs out. Agent Obrad Fimic talked to Izvestia about his client’s next step including other EuroLeague teams and the NBA in the discussion.

“This was the best season of his career,” he noted with Shved averaging 21.4 points per EuroLeague game and 22.4 per VTB United League contest, “We will continue negotiations with Khimki after the final decision for the EuroLeague season.”

VTB has canceled its 2019-20 season, in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The EuroLeague campaign remains suspended in hope for health concerns to be lifted in time. Nobody can predict any outcome, but whatever the case Shved is an attractive target for any side.

“Three top EuroLeague clubs have are interested,” his agent mentioned, “Khimki’s offer remains a priority. He feels very comfortable and has become a fan favorite.”

The prolific scorer made the jump to the NBA making 182 appearances with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers, Houston Rockets, and New York Knicks through 2012-13, 2013-14, and 2014-15.

“There is NBA interest every year,” his agent said regarding a potential NBA return, “I don’t rule out him joining an NBA team if the EuroLeague season is canceled and the NBA season resumes.”
