Barcelona swingman Adam Hanga said that while finishing the season in EuroLeague will be complicated and that there will definitely be some risks involved,  he still wants the last phase of the competition to be played and see his team reach its potential.

“It looks like playing in the Euroleague will be difficult, there are a lot of countries involved,” Hanga said in an interview for Barcelona’s website. “You cannot play without risks until there is a vaccine. I want to finish the season, we have worked hard and I want to see how far the team can go.”

Hanga and Barcelona were tied with Spanish archrival Real Madrid at the second spot of the EuroLeague standings with a 22-6 record when the season was halted on March 12 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Hungarian player has been missing both basketball action and his teammates.

“I miss people. On this Barca team, we look forward to seeing each other. To lose that is a shame,” Hanga said.

Hanga, who is under contract until 2022 (there’s an option for 2023), predicted that the crisis due to the virus will inevitably bring a lot of changes to the teams’ rosters.

“We don’t know what will happen in a few months but there will be economic consequences. Let’s hope that normal life comes back soon because that will help. I am sure there will be changes to rosters at clubs as they will look to the long term.”
