AS Monaco announced the departure of head coach Sasa Obradovic in order to join Crvena Zvezda Belgrade. Obradovic talked about becoming the coach of Red Star, confirming the deal with the Serbian side.

“It was a very difficult decision for me to leave Monaco, but the challenge proposed by Red Star tipped the balance. Competing in EuroLeague and finding the club and the city that saw me born into the highest level,” Obradovic said for Monaco’s website. “My biggest regret is that I was unable to finish the work with the “Roca Team.”

Obradovic will be replacing Dragan Sakota at the helm of Crvena Zvezda and return to the team with which he began his career as a player. The Serbian coach will be coaching in EuroLeague once again after 2014-2015 when he was with Alba Berlin.
