Baskonia reportedly proposes Henry to stay with reduced salary

Baskonia proposed Pierria Henry a contract extension that will require the player to accept a reduced salary, according to Encestando.

Henry signed a contract for one plus one season with Baskonia in 2019. The Basque side wants to keep the player on board but his salary that is above one million (per Encestando) is too high for the reduced budget of the team amid the coronavirus crisis.

This is why Baskonia suggested to Henry an extension, in order to convince him to remain with the team. The club is hopeful that an agreement will be reached during the next week.

In 2019-2020, Henry averaged 7.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.6 assists in EuroLeague plus 10.6 points, 3.9 assists and 3.4 rebounds in the Spanish ACB League, where Baskonia won the championship title.
