Greg Monroe penned a one-year deal with Khimki Moscow Region, the Russian team announced on Thursday.

The Georgetown alum and ex-NBA player committed to a second Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season straight after his debut run with FC Bayern Munich. He averaged 12.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.3 steals per contest in the shortened 2019-20 season.

“Monroe is an experienced player who spent many years in the NBA,” noted head coach Rimas Kurtinaitis regarding the latest addition to his squad, “He is one of the few centers in EuroLeague who can be effective with his back to the basket. He is also very good at rebounding. I think we have put together a very strong front line.”

Previously coming in for Khimki were Evgeny Voronov and returnee Jordan Mickey. In addition, Alexey Shved, Sergey Monia, Egor Vialtsev, and Devin Booker re-signed.
