ASVEL keeps Olympiacos under control

The second “We’re Back” EuroLeague preseason tournament started off with ASVEL logging a rather comfortable 74-57 win against Olympiacos.

Both teams’ coaches split the playing time quite a bit across their roster, using 11 players each with ASVEL’s duo of David Lighty and Guerschon Yabusele being the only players to log more than 25 minutes on the floor.

If the win for the French squad wasn’t a surprise for, doing it by winning all four quarters of the match certainly is impressive and unexpected.

The main difference had to be the three-point shot as ASVEL made 12-28 but Olympiacos, on the other side, got only one triple out of 14 tries.

Allerik Freeman was the spark that pushed ASVEL throughout the game as he banked 14 points with 4-6 from behind the arc while Moustapha Fall and Norris Cole followed with 12 each.

Lighty scored 11 while Yabusele scored two points but also logged six rebounds, six assists, four steals and a block.

For Olympiacos, Octavius Ellis scored 12 in addition to Hassan Martin’s ten points. Martin also grabbed ten rebounds for a double-double.
