Just a few days after their meeting in Piraeus, Olympiacos stood strong against ASVEL on the road to grab a 101-93 victory in overtime, for a Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Round 10 makeup game.

After multiple leads changes deep into the fourth quarter, Kostas Sloukas sent the game to overtime after hitting a three-pointer with 0.8 seconds remaining in the game. Sloukas paced the Reds with 23 points and six assists and a terrific contribution in the extra five-minute period.

Shaquielle McKissic also left the game with 23 points and kept the Greek team alive in crunch time.

“After our previous result against this team, we were very upset and disappointed because we made this month a really good job and threw one victory. I think, all game, we showed character. We lost a little bit the rhythm of the game in the third quarter with some silly turnovers, but the important thing is that we showed the heart of Olympiacos, came back, and took this game”, commented Sloukas after the game.

Hassan Martin added 15 points for Olympiacos, Giorgos Printezis had 11 and Aaron Harrison finished the game with 12.

ASVEL’s defensive effort put up a lot of trouble for Olympiacos in the fourth quarter, though the Greek team quickly regrouped in OT to reach this tough victory. Norris Colo added a team-high of 21 points for TJ Parker’s squad, followed by David Lighty who posted 18 points. William Howard added up to the list of top scorers with 16 points and Kevarrius Hayes had 13 points along with 8 rebounds.

The Greek side improved to an 11-9 record ahead of a challenging game against Zalgiris on Friday while the French team will look to bounce back and improve its 6-14 record against Valencia on Thursday.
