Speaking to the Greek national television, Mario Hezonja admitted that he hopes to remain a player of Panathinaikos also for the upcoming season.

When asked on the matter, Hezonja’s answer was the following: “Basketball has come a long way both in the States and in Europe. A lot of things are about business and money right now, so we will have to sit down and see all the offers that we will have and we will see. I speak to my team all the time and for me, it’s an easy decision. But of course, we will have to see after these three months and I hope so, that I will be in Green”.

Hezonja always admitted that he loves the idea of being a member of Panathinaikos, however, this is the first time that he talked about his wishes for next season.

Having said that, the 26-year-old player who was the 5th pick of the 2015 NBA draft will be a free agent in the summer and all talks will start almost from a zero basis. Plus, if he remains in Europe, Barcelona will be owning his rights. It has to be also noted that Barcelona, despite having the right to match up the offer of Panathinaikos and sign Hezonja for the rest of the season, decided to permit his move to the Greens.
