EuroLeague suspends Ergin Ataman for one game

EuroLeague Basketball announced that Anadolu Efes coach Ergin Ataman has been suspended for one game due to his actions toward the officiating crew in the Round 30 game against Bayern Munich.

Ataman will not be able to be present at the team’s next home game against Panathinaikos OPAP Athens. The decision may be subject to appeal before the Appeals Judge.

Per EuroLeague Basketball:

Euroleague Basketball has announced the follow disciplinary sanction pertaining to incidents that occurred in a Round 30 game of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season. The sanction is based on infractions of the competition bylaws that all teams are aware of and obliged to fulfill.

• Mr Ergin Ataman, head coach of Anadolu Efes Istanbul, has been sanctioned with a temporary disqualification of one game for actions that represent a lack of respect towards the officiating crew on the occasion of its away game against FC Bayern Munich under Article 27.2.b) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.

As a consequence, the Head Coach will not be able to be present at the team’s next home game against Panathinaikos OPAP Athens. The decision may be subject to appeal before the Appeals Judge.
