Real Madrid coach Pablo Laso was suspended for one game by EuroLeague Basketball due to “actions that represent a lack of respect towards the officiating crew” and won’t sit at the bench of his team in the match vs. Olympiacos Piraeus Friday (2/4).

In the fourth quarter of Real’s loss to Anadolu Efes, Laso protested some calls and was ejected with a second technical foul. He continued yelling at the referees about their decisions before heading to the locker room and while the officials were asking him to leave the court.

Per EuroLeague:

Euroleague Basketball has announced the follow disciplinary sanction pertaining to incidents that occurred in a Round 32 game of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season. The sanction is based on infractions of the competition bylaws that all teams are aware of and obliged to fulfill.

• Mr Pablo Laso, head coach of Real Madrid has been sanctioned with a temporary disqualification for one game for actions that represent a lack of respect towards the officiating crew on occasion of its home game against Anadolu Efes Istanbul under Article 27.2.b) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code.

As a consequence, the Head Coach will not be able to be present in their next game against Olympiacos Piraeus. The decision may be subject to appeal before the Appeals Judge.
