Livio Jean-Charles will not play for Olympiacos in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season Round 10 fixture at Anadolu Efes, the Greek team announced Tuesday.

The Reds traveled to Istanbul lacking the injured player. Following the trip to Turkey, they will host Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv on the bottom end of the double-game week Friday. The French power forward is considered questionable to return to action in Round 11.

Jean-Charles, 28, averaged 5.8 points and 2.9 rebounds per contest over nine appearances as a reserve in his second EuroLeague campaign at Olympiacos and third overall counting the 2019-20 debut stint as a member of LDLC ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne.

“Olympiacos has very effective players, Tyler Dorsey as a scorer, Moustapha Fall as physical strength under the rim, Sasha Vezenkov with outside shots to create open spaces with the organization of Kostas Sloukas and Thomas Walkup. Also, Olympiacos is a team that takes the opponent out of their offensive system with its switching man to man defense and started the season very well,” noted Efes boss Ergin Ataman.

The Greek powerhouse standing at 6-3 in the EuroLeague standings will be looking for the first win of the season on the road. Apart from Jean-Charles, the remaining players are healthy and available, including recent addition, Quincy Acy, as confirmed by Giorgos Bartzokas. “I am confident he can meet our expectations and help the team. But we must be patient as he has not played an official game for several months,” said the Greek head coach.

As for the defending EuroLeague champions, currently tied in 12th place at 3-6, James Anderson will remain sidelined, while Vasilije Micic is listed as questionable.
