In an exciting contest that went down the wire, Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul grabbed an 85-76 victory over LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne in their Round 24 meeting in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. The Turkish side improved to a 10-10 record and evened the regular-season series against TJ Parker’s squad.

Marko Guduric stepped up for Fenerbahce right on time at the mid-point of the fourth quarter to give his team a 73-66 lead and the hosts never lost track since after a tight contest in the previous three quarters.

Dyshawn Pierre and Devin Booker called game to lead all Fener scorers with 16 points each, Guduric exited with 15 points and Jehyve Floyd tapped 10.

“It is very important (six straight wins at home). Every next game and every next win that we can get. It is obvious that we don’t have half of our team due to injuries, surgery or whatever it is, but it is important that we keep this rhythm, so the result was the priority. We got the win and players did a great job”, said Fener coach Sasha Djordjevic after the game.

Elie Okobo’s 23-point performance wasn’t enough to lift ASVEL to victory, and the French side has suffered its third consecutive defeat to fall to a 9-14 record.

Charles Kahudi posted 14 points and 6 rebounds for the visiting team, Chris Jones had 12 points and 8 assists and Kostas Antetokounmpo followed with 10 points.

Fener will look to extend its winning streak against Olimpia Milano on Thursday, while ASVEL hopes to bounce back against reigning champions Efes on Friday in Round 25.
