Oscar Da Silva and Barcelona have initiated talks, according to Eurohoops’s Aris Barkas. There’s strong mutual interest and Da Silva may end up being the first summer addition to the club.

The Stanford alumni moved back to native Germany after going undrafted in the 2021 NBA Draft and played for MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg and Alba Berlin since.

The 23-year-old forward has been on a great run with Alba this season despite the team missing the Euroleague playoffs by a couple of wins. They won the German Cup and are in the semifinals of the German League currently as the first seed against Da Silva’s former team Ludwigsburg.

Da Silva has been posting 10.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, one assist and one steal per game across all competitions this past year with 19 minutes of playing time on average.

Barcelona is looking to change up the roster after missing the chance to win the Euroleague for the second straight year despite reaching the Final Four. As Eurohoops reported earlier, the team is also trying to add Jan Vesely as a replacement for Brandon Davies.
