Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv announced Sunday that they have reunited with coach Oded Kattash, this time with a two-year deal.

“It feels good, it’s exciting. I’m very happy and looking forward to the challenge,” Oded Katash said after his signing. “In the end, in the situation that has arisen, it is very challenging and I am waiting for it. Beyond the good people who were here, in terms of joining David Blatt I think there was nothing better to ask for Maccabi and me as a coach. We talked about the excitement, it’s one of the things I am most excited for. Learn and absorb as much as possible.”

Kattash is reunited with Maccabi for the first time since 2007-08, early in his coaching career. The 47-year-old tactician spent part of the 2020-2021 season with Panathinaikos before parting ways with the club last June and remained out of action since.

Besides Maccabi and Panathinaikos, Kattash has also coached the Israeli national team between 2017 and 2021, Hapoel Jerusalem, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Hapoel Eilat, and Hapoel Gilboa Galil, with which he was also named Israeli League champion in 2010.
