Crvena Zvezda has announced that Luka Mitrovic has suffered a muscle strain during the game against Bayern Munich, and he will now be forced to miss at least the following games against Igokea in the ABA League and AS Monaco in the EuroLeague. Here’s the statement by the Serbian team:

“KK Crvena Zvezda mts informs the public that the two-day detailed examinations undergone by wing center Luka Mitrović determined that our player suffered a severe muscle strain on Friday, due to which he had to leave the match against Bayern.

The results of the magnetic resonance imaging and all the detailed examinations established that Mitrović did not suffer a serious injury, but it, apart from being extremely painful, requires rest, daily therapy, and constant supervision by the medical team of KK Crvena Zvezda.

Due to all of the above, Luka Mitrović will not play in the match (or travel with the team) against Igokea in Laktaši, as well as against Monaco. KK Crvena Zvezda will inform the public in a timely manner about the pace and dynamics of the recovery of our player Luka Mitrovic”.

Before spending only three minutes on the court, the Serbian forward was averaging 7.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game in the EuroLeague, with a season-high of 17 points against Baskonia.
