Maccabi Tel Aviv suspends Darrun Hilliard

Maccabi Tel Aviv swingman Darrun Hilliard has been suspended from participating in upcoming practices and the EuroLeague game against Bayern Munich Friday (2/12). The club mentions that the player is sanctioned “following recent events” with no further details mentioned.

Hilliard isn’t the only Maccabi player that won’t be traveling to Munich for the game vs. Bayern since guard Wade Baldwin is out as well due to muscle pains. Baldwin felt pain in his hamstring near the team’s latest match (a loss to Hapoel Jerusalem) and while the MRI showed no damage, the player had problems also during Wednesday’s (30/11) practice. It was decided that he will stay out as a precaution.

Baldwin is the second-highest scorer and passer for Maccabi Tel Aviv behind Lorenzo Brown with 15.2 points and 4.5 assists, along with 3.2 rebounds. Hilliard is averaging 4.8 points and 1.7 rebounds.

Maccabi will look to capture its first away win in EuroLeague this season in Munich after four losses. The Israeli side is 5-5 overall while Bayern stands at 3-7.
