Crvena Zvezda president Nebojsa Covic said that he and star guard Milos Teodosic have already agreed that the player will join the Serbian club next season. Teodosic’s contract with Virtus expires in 2023.

“Milos and I had talks for this season,” Covic mentioned to Sputnik Portal. When we failed to make the transfer [from Virtus Bologna], we reached an agreement in principle that it would be next season, God and health willing. Milos is a player who’s nearing the end of his career. I want him to play for another five years. He still has a lot of time until June, July.”

Teodosic is a well-known Crvena Zvezda supporter and it would make sense for him to want to finish his career not only playing in his native Serbia but with the jersey of his favorite team. The former EuroLeague MVP (2010) and champion (2016) will become 36 years old in March so his next contract may likely be the last in his big and successful career.

So far this season, Teodosic is averaging 8.8 points and 4.9 assists in 16:32 minutes in EuroLeague.

Covic also discussed the reported signing of former All-EuroLeague guard Facu Campazzo. “Nothing is finished yet,” he commented. “We are working on it, when it is finished, one way or another, you will have information. We are not far, but not close either.”
