Panathinaikos without Dwayne Bacon vs Barcelona, Paris Lee questionable

Panathinaikos Athens will face FC Barcelona in Round 30 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague without injured Dwayne Bacon, as coach Christos Serelis confirmed.

The US swingman sprained his ankle during a loss to the Olympiacos in the domestic league and won’t be able to help the team.

Bacon averages 17,2 points, 3,7 rebounds, 1,7 assists, and a PIR of 12,8 over 23 EuroLeague games this season.

Serelis also won’t have Mateusz Ponitka at his disposal, while Derrick Williams has minor injury problems but is expected to play.

He has a very small injury. He could rest for some matches if we were in a different situation. We tried it with PAOK, but it is not easy as we have seen. We want to win, but the fact that we have no hope for the playoffs does not make us indifferent,” Serelis said.

Paris Lee did not practice as he had problems with his left shin. It’s still not clear if he will compete against Barcelona.

The most likely thing is that he will get minutes of participation, but the decision will be at the last minute, based on how the player will feel.

With a 10-19 score, Panathinaikos is 16th in the EuroLeague standings, while Barcelona is third with 19-10 and has a chance to book the playoffs in the upcoming Round.
