Glickman’s future as EuroLeague CEO to be decided

The 13 EuroLeague Basketball shareholder-clubs will vote on whether acting CEO Marshall Glickman will retain his position Monday (5/6), per Marc Mundet of Rac 1.

Glickman, a former NBA executive, was named EuroLeague acting CEO in September 2022 by signing a one-year contract. It’s questionable that he’ll continue in this role since, according to Mundet, his management is considered “unsatisfactory” by most EuroLeague clubs.

Mundet also reports that Glickman’s relationship with EuroLeague president Dejan Bodiroga is “not good.” Bodiroga, a EuroLeague legend as player and longtime executive after his retirement, assumed the presidency also last September.

Bodiroga and Glickman replaced Jordi Bertomeu who was at the helm of EuroLeague Basketball since the organization was founded in 2000.

Shortly after Glickman joined EuroLeague, the discussion about a possible expansion to Dubai was brought on the table. He and representatives of the 13 shareholder-clubs visited Dubai and had talks with several local executives about a potential cooperation.

Glickman has also greatly promoted a EuroLeague expansion to Paris and London.
