Sasa Obradovic about his future at Monaco: “I couldn’t be more at peace”

Sasa Obradovic led Monaco to the Final Four in Kaunas and won the French Cup and League, but there were speculations about his future with the team.

After achieving yet another goal by defeating Metropolitans 92 3-0 in the French Finals, Obradovic is not concerned.

First and foremost, I couldn’t be more at peace with all these speculations about whether I will be a coach or not. I can confidently say ‘Mission complete’ because we have achieved everything, and even more, than the goals set before the start of the season. I have fulfilled my personal ambitions and expectations at the highest level. I understand the occasional injustice in sports, but also professionalism. I understand that people think differently, and that should be accepted. When everything is said and done, whether you are a champion or not, because I haven’t always been a champion, one must be aware that they have given their best, that they can stand in front of the mirror and say they have given their maximum effort. Personally, I can say that, not only in this case but in others as well. That’s why I am extremely calm about what lies ahead,” the Serbian coach said in an interview with Mozzart Sport.

Obradovic is yet to have conversations about what’s next for him and the Monaco team.

To be honest, I haven’t talked to the president yet, even though there have been assurances that there will be no changes. I would like to hear it from the top person, whether everything was done properly or not, whether there is belief or no belief… That is the foundation of everything. It’s not important whether you have a contract or not, but whether someone believes in your work and predictions that you can achieve more than this. That’s what needs to be discussed, and any decision should be accepted. That’s why I am calm because I have done the job with the whole team, coaching staff, and players. We have put ourselves on the world basketball map, including myself, so I can expect that good things will continue to happen to me, as they did this year,” Obradovic concluded.
