Moraitis released from Peristeri to join Panathinaikos

Peristeri has officially announced that Dimitris Moraitis is a free agent and as Eurohoops has reported since April, he will continue his career with Panathinaikos.

While there’s no mention in the press release, Panathinaikos has paid the fixed buy-out clause of the player, who had a contract until 2024 and he is expected to be the first official addition of the Greens.

With Ergin Ataman already in Athens, the Greek club is expected to move fast in an effort to complete change their roster keeping very few players from the pre-Ataman era, mainly Greeks due to the foreign players limit in the domestic league.

The 24-years old Moraitis was not only a standout with Peristeri, which finished third in the league, but also a key member of the Greek national team which secured qualification to the FIBA World Cup with a big team against Serbia.
