LDLC ASVEL suffered its sixth defeat in the last seven games and is 0-3 in EuroLeague, 4-3 in Betclic Elite at the start of the season. Rumors are swirling about the future of head coach T.J. Parker, and there are increasing reports suggesting that he might be replaced.

According to Donatas Urbonas from BasketNews, a World Cup champion with Germany, Gordon Herbert is being considered for the head coaching job at Villeurbanne, while L’Equipe reports that Sergio Scariolo is also in the mix, but confirms that Herbert is ASVEL’s first option.

The respected French paper adds that everything could be resolved quickly, following an agreement from the German Federation for Herbert to sit on both benches.

The Canadian-Finnish coach who led Germany to the World Cup gold medal worked in France with Paris Basket Racing and Pau Orthez. His last stint in the EuroLeague dates back to 2008, with Aris Thessaloniki. Prior to that, he worked in the top European competition as the coach of Pau Orthez and Frankfurt Skyliners.
