Valencia suffered a heavy loss to LDLC ASVEL in Round 33 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, significantly lowering its chances of making it to the Play-Ins.

Therefore, Alex Mumbru left the coaching position, as Chema De Lucas first reported.

Valencia Basket informed its men’s team coach, Álex Mumbrú, of the decision to end his contract. The Club wants to thank the professionalism, dedication, and work carried out by Álex during the time in which he occupied the first seat on the Valencia Basket bench, and wishes him the best in his future, professionally and personally,” the Spanish side officially confirmed parting ways with the head coach.

Since arriving at Valencia in the summer of 2022, Mumbrú has led the team in 133 games with a balance of 63 wins and 70 losses between Liga Endesa, Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, and Copa del Rey.

The Spanish side will visit Partizan in the crucial match of the last EuroLeague Regular Season round (12/04), with Mumbru’s assistant Xavi Albert taking care of that team.
