Both Bayern Munich and Anadolu Efes are still in the race for contending in the EuroLeague post-season, respectively 5th at 17-11 and 11th at 14-14.

If they can still respectively dream about positioning in the Playoffs and in the Play-Ins, good credit goes to their winning performances over Crvena Zvezda (100-82) and Virtus Bologna (89-68). In these two victories for the German and Turkish teams, two players stood out.

Helping Gordon Herbert’s team beat a contender for the Playoffs, Carsen Edwards had 30 points over 4/7 from two, 6/10 from deep, and 4/5 at the line – ending with a 29-PIR night.

Moving to Istanbul, instead, Vincent Poirier dropped a huge double-double of 18 points (7/11 from two and 4/5 at the charity stripe) and 13 rebounds to take down the Italian side with the former Virtus Bologna head coach Luca Banchi on the bench – ending with a PIR of 29.

Sharing both winning performances and the highest amount of Player Index Rating throughout the competition, therefore, Carsen Edwards and Vincent Poirier were named co-MVPs of Round 28.

The American guard is still contending in the race for the MVP of the Regular Season, behind Sasha Vezenkov and Kendrick Nunn, averaging 19.9 points and 3.1 assists per game; the French center, instead, is putting up 9.9 points and 5.0 rebounds in his first season with Efes.
