With Jan Vesely remaining on a crowded injury list, FC Barcelona faces elimination from the 2024-25 edition of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague in a second straight game against AS Monaco in Palau Blaugrana.
After recovering from a right knee injury and returning to action at the end of the 2024-25 EuroLeague Regular Season, Vesely left Game 2 of a best-of-five series versus Monaco due to a back injury. He went on to sit out Game 3 and has been officially ruled out for Game 4 as well.
The native of Ostrava has been limited to 24 games played in the ongoing installment of Europe’s premier club continental competition by various injuries. When active, his contributions to the team coached by Joan Penarroya translated into 9.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.5 blocks per contest.
Taking on La Roca Team on Friday evening, his side is looking for a second straight home win in his abscence to force a deciding Game 5 in Salle Gaston Medecin next Tuesday. A losing effort would mark elimination, one step before the Final Four to be played between May 23 and 25.
In addition to the 35-year-old forward/center, Nicolas Laprovittola (right knee surgery), Chimezie Metu (right leg surgery), and Juan Nunez (right knee surgery) are out, having been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
On the opposite end, Nick Calathes is considered questionable after missing recent team outings due to an undisclosed injury.
