Not being able to contribute to Olympiacos’ possible success in Game 3 against Real Madrid on the road, Evan Fournier came back for Game 4 and ended up being crucial for the Greeks.

He pushed Olympiacos to the Final Four with a team-high 23 points, shooting 5/5 from two-point range and 10/13 at the line, despite shooting 1/5 from beyond the arc, committing 5 turnovers.

For the first time in his career in the EuroLeague, he was named MVP of the Round in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, having the highest PIR (18) in Game 4 among winning players.

“Technically, the goal is not achieved, but step by step, we’re getting closer to it. As we go on, it’s gonna get harder and harder, Real Madrid was a hell of a challenge,” Fournier commented in the aftermath.

Kostas Sloukas finished his fourth game with Panathinaikos against Anadolu Efes with a losing effort of 26 PIR. Mike James had a 19 of PIR against Barcelona, but in a Game 4 loss.

Following Juancho Hernangomez as MVP in Game 1, two co-MVPs in Game 2 like Mam Jaiteh and Shane Larkin, and yet again, two other co-MVPs in Game 3 like Willy Hernangomez and Kendrick Nunn, this is the first time an Olympiacos player has been awarded in these EuroLeague Playoffs.
