Despite not having Scottie Wilbekin on board since the beginning of the season, Fenerbahce still managed to turn their dream into reality, being crowned EuroLeague champions.

Trusting in the player’s return from injury and availability to the court in the upcoming 2025-26  campaign, the Turkish team has reportedly locked in the agreement to extend the guard’s contract.

According to a report from Moshe Barda, confirmed today by Chema de Lucas, Fenerbahce and Scottie Wilbekin have already agreed on a 1+1 year contract extension.

The player, who has a Turkish passport and has already represented the Turkish national team, will gain the rights to play as a Turkish player, which makes Fenerbahce’s move even more logical.

In Round 1 of the 2024-25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season, the 32-year-old combo guard suffered a complete tear of his right anterior cruciate ligament against Olympiacos. He missed the whole season.

Prior to his move to Istanbul in 2022, where he had already played in the past with Darussafaka for three years (2015-18), Scottie Wilbekin cemented his legacy as a valuable EuroLeague guard with Maccabi Tel Aviv, staying with the Israeli team for four years.
