Peppe Poeta is back for EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, after one successful season as the head coach of Germani Brescia.

The Italian club officially welcomed him back on Monday.

“I am happy to come back to such a prestigious team, a team that means a lot to me, proud and grateful for the trust that both Coach Ettore Messina and the owners are showing,” said the 39-year-old expert.

The native of Battipaglia was named lead assistant of Messina and is expected to take over as the new head coach of Scarpette Rosse in 2026. He previously served as an assistant coach between 2022 and 2024.

“As a club, we have agreed with the owners, to entrust Peppe Poeta for the present and the future of our club. With him, we feel like we brought back to Olimpia a person of high coaching and human skills,” mentioned current head coach Messina.

As the play-caller of Brescia, his efforts were highlighted by reaching the LBA Finals Unipol 2025, before falling short to eventual Italian champion Virtus Segafredo Bologna. As an assistant coach at Olimpia Milan, he instead celebrated back-to-back LBA UnipolSai championships in 2023 and 2024.

After suiting up for several clubs and earning 120 caps with the senior national team of Italy during a playing career stretching from 2000 to 2022, he switched to coaching career as an assistant of Gianmarco Pozzecco in the FIBA World Cup 2023 and the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament 2024 in San Juan, in addition to working under Messina at Milan.

The 2025-26 schedule for the Milan outfit will once more extend from domestic competitions in Italy to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.
