After announcing the former EuroLeague Final Four MVP as the cherry on top of the cake for their transfer market one summer ago, Virtus Bologna has now officially announced Will Clyburn’s departure.
The black-and-white side issued a press release to state that the two parties have “mutually terminated the existing contract”, and the American forward will now find a new team.
“A heartfelt thanks to Will for the season we spent together, which ended with the title of Italian Champions, and good luck for his next adventure,” the team’s statement also says.
Will Clyburn’s future seems not totally certain at the moment, as his deal with Barcelona remains incomplete according to Eurohoops sources. Oscar Herreros first reported on the interest from the Catalan team in the 35-year-old, while Chema de Lucas reported the deal as finalized.
Despite not playing the full season in the LBA and in the EuroLeague for the black-and-white team, he still had 13.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per game in Europe for Virtus.
