Until Sunday, OAKA is the scenario of the EuroLeague Head Coaches Board Congress, with several basketball masterminds conducting clinics and sharing their view on the sport.

Among them, Sarunas Jasikevicius has been the protagonist of a show, dropping gold quotes such as memories from his time with Panathinaikos alongside another Greek club’s legend.

“Diamantidis and I are very close friends, and we go on vacation together. I am very lucky to have him as my friend. Last year, we were in Paros and we remembered what happened when we lost a game,” he opened.

“The next day, I wanted to sit in the front row of the room during the video, and I wanted Obradovic to tear me apart,” he said. Can you imagine? Now players are softer. Diamantidis wanted Obradovic to tear him apart because he said that’s what he deserved”, Saras added.

This wasn’t the only story shared by the Lithuanian head coach about Zeljko Obradovic. “There were times when I would do something bad and he would shout at me, ‘Jasikevicius! Jasikevicius!’ and then, when I did something good, he would say, ‘Bravo Saras, bravo Saras,” he said.

“I understand that this was part of his culture. I understand it. When I was good, I was Saras, when I was bad, I was Jasikevicius”, he joked.
