The new general manager of Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet, Milan Tomic, visited head coach Giannis Sfairopoulos and other members of the coaching staff.
With the vice president of the EuroLeague Head Coaches Board in Athens for the EHCB Coaches Congress 2025 over recent days, the meeting was held in the Greek capital on Sunday.
On the official X account, the team based in Belgrade posted a picture of the first meeting between Tomic and Sfairopoulos to start their latest collaboration.
Tomic, 51, served as an assistant coach of Olympiacos under head coach Sfairopoulos between 2014 and 2018. From the partnership generating two Greek League championships and two runner-up finishes in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague to Zvezda heading to the 2025-26 edition of the EuroLeague, alongside continental action in the AdmiralBet ABA League and domestic action in the mid-season Radivoj Korac Cup and late-season AdmiralBet Basketball League of Serbia. The meeting set the pace for further offseason preparations.
So far this summer, Zvezda has officially added Tyson Carter, Ebuka Izundu, Stefan Miljenovic, Chima Moneke, Semi Ojeleye, and Uros Plavsic to the 2025-26 roster. On the opposite direction, Mike Daum has officially parted ways with the Serbian club and Milos Teodosic announced his retirement, while Filip Petrusev is expected to play elsewhere next season.
More roster moves are expected, possibly including other players under contract. The current list also features Joel Bolomboy, Isaiah Canaan, Dejan Davidovac, Ognjen Dobric, Yago dos Santos, Rokas Giedraitis, Nikola Kalinic, Branko Lazic, Codi Miller-McIntyre, and Luka Mitrovic.
