FC Barcelona and Youssoupha Fall have reached an agreement for the pivot to continue at the club for the 2025/26 season. During his first season, Fall played 63 games and “always put the team before individual performance.”
“I’m very happy to continue at Barça next season. I will give my best for you and for the team,” Fall said in a message from Dakar.
General Manager Juan Carlos Navarro highlighted, “He has shown from day one that he wants to be a Barça player. We have always valued his continuity because he is very appreciated by his teammates and by the Club.”
Navarro added: “For us, it’s essential to have players who genuinely want to be here and make the effort to show it.”
He also explained, “The team’s setup with Jabari Parker and other potential moves affected the composition of the squad, particularly the interior game. As the weeks went by, we were able to secure Fall, which makes us very happy.”
On Fall’s role, Navarro said: “He gives us presence and physical impact, affecting opposing teams. He complements Vesely well… and Willy, who excels in one-on-one post-ups and pick-and-roll situations.”
Regarding the broader market, Navarro remarked: “Most young players aim for the U.S. college system, the NBA is far ahead economically, the EuroLeague has expanded from 18 to 20 teams with enormous financial power, and the Asian and Australian markets are only growing. These factors have led many players, who originally were not expected to stay at their clubs, to be retained. They have also increased the value of many others, making signings more difficult. In Spain, we are limited by the number of foreign players, which forces us to fine-tune our selection even further.”
