Panathinaikos, Anadolu Efes, and Žalgiris suffer preseason defeats

Panathinaikos played its first preseason game, falling to Peristeri 93–90 at the Telekom Center in Athens.

Christos Serelis was in charge of coaching, while the new acquisitions made their debuts. T.J. Shorts scored 20 points, Richaun Holmes had 13, and Nikos Rogavopoulos added 11, with Ioannis Kouzeloglou also participating (one point).

Panathinaikos’ leading scorer was Kendrick Nunn with 22 points, while Marius Grigonis contributed seven and Jerian Grant scored 10. Juancho Hernangómez and Mattias Lessort were also absent for the Greens.

Jake Van Tubbergen led Peristeri with 26 points, followed by Ty Nichols and C.J. Harris, who each added 13 points.

Anadolu Efes fell to Bahçeşehir 70–84 during the Gloria Cup in Antalya.

P.J. Dozier led Anadolu Efes with 19 points, Georgios Papagiannis added 14, Rüzgar Fenemen had 11, and Cole Swider contributed 10. It is worth noting that Anadolu Efes was missing many first-team players due to EuroBasket obligations and injuries.

Tyler Cavanaugh led ambitious EuroCup side Bahçeşehir with 20 points, followed by Trevion Williams with 17, while former NBA player Malachi Flynn added 15 points.

At the Gloria Cup, another EuroLeague team was in action, with Žalgiris Kaunas losing to Tofaş Bursa 74–78.

The Lithuanian side also missed some players due to EuroBasket, while Moses Wright scored 16 points with 12 rebounds, Ignas Brazdeikis added 15, and Nigel Williams-Goss contributed six points.

Valencia Basket secured an 80-98 win over Casademont Zaragoza in the Pepe Lanzuela Memorial, with six players scoring in double figures.

The team welcomed Yankuba Sima’s debut, while Darius Thompson and three others missed the game due to physical issues. Brancou Badio and Xabi López-Arostegui left the game early with injuries.

Milan got an 81-70 win over Derthona with Shavon Shields scoring 15 points and Lorenzo Brown adding 13.
