Italian coach Paolo Galbiati analyzed Baskonia’s third consecutive defeat, a match with ups and downs against Panathinaikos, ultimately decided by a Kendrick Nunn buzzer-beater.
Galbiati talked about both the mistakes and the team’s effort: “The end of the third quarter was a disaster. After that, I can only thank the team for their effort, and in the end… that’s basketball, for better or for worse.”
After the setback, he sought to focus on the positive side, noting that, despite the difficulties, the group is moving in the right direction: “It’s a step forward, without a doubt. Not all the players are on the same page, but that’s normal. We need training, time for the players to get to know each other, and to gain experience. The rotation was short: Samanic was out, Diop had foul trouble, and Kurucs had barely trained once in four months. We’re tired and stopped playing as a team, and we can’t allow that.”
Finally, he delivered a message of unity and commitment, underscoring the importance of teamwork over individual performances. “It’s part of my job to make sure the players understand that we have to stick together. We don’t need heroes, we need to play together.”
