Fenerbahce fell to Crvena Zvezda in Istanbul last week and had a chance to bounce back at home against Dubai.
With Talen Horton-Tucker sidelined due to injury, joining Brandon Boston, Jilson Bango, and Armando Bacot on the injury list, Sarunas Jasikevicius’ side suffered another defeat in front of their home crowd, as Dubai recorded a commanding 69-93 road victory.
It was Mfiondu Kabengele’s show at Ülker Sports Arena, as the Canadian big man led Dubai with 26 points and seven rebounds in less than 24 minutes on the court.
Dwayne Bacon added 21 points, while Klemen Prepelic and Davis Bertans contributed 13 each. Filip Petrusev came close to a double-double with 11 points and eight rebounds.
For the injury-hit Fenerbahce, Bonzie Colson and Wade Baldwin scored 12 points apiece, with Devin Hall adding 10.
Dubai seized control midway through the first quarter, while Fenerbahce stayed close until the final minutes of the second period, when the visitors pulled away with a 9-0 run to take a 46-31 lead. After the break, Dubai continued to extend their advantage, going up 56-33 and entering the final quarter leading 71-48.
The game was essentially over, but the guests didn’t let up, pushing the lead to 93-61 before Fenerbahce managed an 8-0 run to slightly trim the deficit and make the final score a bit more respectable.
