Sasha Vezenkov named EuroLeague Round 5 MVP

Sasha Vezenkov of Olympiacos Piraeus earned MVP honors for Round 5 of the 2025-26 EuroLeague Regular Season after a spectacular performance in a 94-95 road comeback win over Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv.

Vezenkov erased a 12-point deficit in the final four minutes, finishing with 23 points (6-of-7 two-pointers, 2-of-5 threes, 5-of-5 free throws), 10 rebounds, 2 assists, and a PIR of 31 — the highest of the round.

This marks Vezenkov’s second MVP of the Round this season, making him the first player to achieve the feat in 2025-26 and tying Nando De Colo for the second-most MVP honors all-time with 16.

Close behind were his Olympiacos teammate Nikola Milutinov (PIR 30) and Cedi Osman (PIR 30) of Panathinaikos AKTOR, who tallied 23 and 29 points respectively. Other top performers included Dan Oturu (PIR 29), Arnas Butkevicius, Carsen Edwards, and Filip Petrusev (each PIR 28). Edwards led all scorers in Round 5 with a career-high 36 points for Virtus Segafredo Bologna.

Individual round highs: Mfiondu Kabengele (13 rebounds), Kostas Sloukas (12 assists), Nikola Mirotic (4 steals), and Khalifa Diop (3 blocks).

Six players recorded double-doubles: Vezenkov, Mfiondu Kabengele (10 pts, 13 rebs), Carlik Jones (18 pts, 10 asts), Nate Reuvers (10 pts, 10 rebs), Momo Faye (11 pts, 10 rebs), and Jaylen Hoard (12 pts, 10 rebs).
